As the sustainability foundation of one of the world’s biggest agricultural traders, Beyond Beans has been one of our longest standing partners. Its mission is to build profitable and self-sustaining farming communities.
Over the past 6 years, we’ve been working together to tackle issues like deforestation, child labour and financial inequality, but in the Nigerian office, impact was being limited by organisational complexity. Different departments were using different data-collection systems, whilst their field agents were still using pencil and paper.
With Mergdata, the foundation has advanced beyond inefficient, manual procedures. We worked together to digitise and centralise all of their data collection processes – from agroforestry to sales and administration.
But, as a business that’s always worked in the field, we knew that our solutions needed to work as well on the ground as they did in HQ. That’s why we developed our platform into a GPS enabled mobile app. We also provided intensive training for all of Beyond Beans’s field agents – now they can collect precise data in rural areas without needing a mobile network.
